Buckinghamshire-based distributor Tomato Tyres has entered into an agreement to supply specialist aviation logistics company Comet Car Hire (CCH) with the new for 2018 Yokohama BluEarth-Van RY55 tyre for its fleet of Mercedes vans, minibuses and people carriers.
Starting in April 2018, Yokohama tyres are being fitted as original equipment to Škoda Kodiaq SUVs produced and sold in Russia. The Yokohama BluEarth-A AE-50 is being supplied in two sizes, 235/55R18 100V and 215/65R17 99V.
The Yokohama BluEarth RV-02 tyre range, which is currently sold in Japan and Asia, is coming to Europe this summer. Beginning in the warmer months, the RV-02 will be gradually rolled out across the region, with 35 size from 245/35R20 95W XL to 195/65R15 91H available. The tyres have been given an EU tyre label rating of ‘A’ for wet grip and ‘C’ for rolling resistance.
Japanese manufacturer Yokohama’s BluEarth designation, used to denote its most ecologically-sound tyres, is described by the Japanese manufacturer as “far more than simply a product label.” BluEarth demonstrates the company’s commitment to minimising the impact of tyre production and use while providing drivers with the optimum combination of performance and safety.
The Lexus Group has selected Yokohama tyres as original equipment for its new crossover SUV, the Lexus NX. Exact fitments will vary according to region, however worldwide the tyre maker is supplying two models of tyre in a total of three sizes. The Yokohama tyres selected for the Lexus NX are the BluEarth E51 in size 225/60R18 100H and the Geolandar G91 in sizes 225/60R18 100H and 225/65R17 102H.
