New Dunlop 17.5, 19.5-inch truck tyres launched

Dunlop has launched a range of 20 new truck tyres in 17.5” and 19.5” sizes. The SP346 steer and the SP446 drive tyres are available in 10 variations respectively, and are designed to provide high mileage and durability alongside strong traction. Dunlop’s latest commercial vehicle range is also manufactured to provide suitable fitments for rapidly developing electric and hybrid vehicles.

Omnitrac: Goodyear introduces new mixed service tyre range

Goodyear is putting its money where its mouth is with its latest mixed service tyre range – it is so confident of the robustness of its Omnitrac drive and steer tyres that it is offering both with an accidental damage and retreading guarantee. The tyre maker additionally claims the Omnitrac provides longer service life than Goodyear’s previous Goodyear MS II mixed service tyre range.

Goodyear-shod Team De Rooy wins Rallye OiLibya Maroc

Team De Rooy, using standard Goodyear truck tyres, took first, second and third places in the Truck Class of the Rallye OiLibya Maroc this month. The Team De Rooy Iveco Powerstar 4×4 of Federico Villagra, Adrian Yacopini and Ricardo Torlaschi not only won the Truck Class but also the overall Open/SSV classification. Two other Team De Rooy Iveco Powerstar 4x4s took second and third places in the Truck Class, finishing fourth and sixth overall in the Open/SSV classification.

Goodyear announces 19.5” tyre with 10t axle weight for lightweight mega trailers

Local truck fleets must reckon with the HGV road user levy, and similar toll schemes are in place throughout Europe. In some countries, such as Germany and Switzerland, the rate levied depends on the number of axles a vehicle uses. Fleets whose routes take them to or through these regions are increasingly turning to solutions that enable them to run with two-axle trailers. Goodyear has now released a new tyre to meet this demand.

Goodyear adds low platform trailer fitments to Kmax T range

The Goodyear Kmax tyre range has been extended by the addition of dimensions for low platform trailers. The newest Kmax T tyres are 17.5-inch fitments and produced in five sizes for this rim diameter. The 3PMSF marked tyres will be available from May 2017.

De Rooy to fit Goodyear truck tyres in 2017 Dakar Rally campaign

The De Rooy team, winner of the 2016 Dakar rally truck class, is returning to defend its crown on Goodyear Offroad ORD tyres. Gerard De Rooy and his team chose the tyre for its four race trucks as well as fitting Goodyear Omnitrac mixed service tyres to their service trucks. The team will target a repeat success with the support of the tyre manufacturer, which will provide testing and back-up.

Goodyear’s A-rated rolling resistance truck tyre prototype at IAA

Goodyear’s new Super Fuelmax prototype truck tyres will be on show at the IAA commercial vehicle show 2016 in Hanover. The prototype steer and drive tyres, which are rated A in rolling resistance on the EU tyre label, will be fitted to one of the trucks on display at the DAF stand, which all stand out in highest fuel efficiency. The Super Fuelmax S steer tyre in size 385/55R22.5 and Super Fuelmax D drive tyre in size 315/70R22.5 are a further development of the low rolling resistance Goodyear Fuelmax range.

Goodyear continues as exclusive FIA European Truck Racing tyre supplier

The Federation Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) has chosen Goodyear as the exclusive tyre partner for the FIA European Truck Racing Championship for the next three years. The partnership extends and expands Goodyear’s long involvement in the series for which it has been producing special developed truck racing tyres since 2004. The tyre manufacturer was rewarded for the proven performance of its tyres with the renewal of its contact, which makes Goodyear a partner of the newly formed ETRA Promotion GmbH (ETRA) – the series’ new promotor.
