Continental has initiated a restructure of its management following a meeting of its Supervisory Board on Thursday. Board members Helmut Matschi and Frank Jourdan will leave the company prematurely. Matschi (58) and Jourdan (61) were originally to stay in position until 2024. As of January 1, 2022, the company will retain only five board members. The group will also integrate its activities into three corporate divisions: Automotive, Tires and ContiTech.
Hankook Tire is introducing an ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) committee to strengthen its Board of Directors’ responsibility and activities in the area of sustainable management. The ESG committee will be responsible for consulting, deliberating, and recommending directions regarding environmental, social and governance businesses.
As a result of its shareholder meeting on 18 June, the board of directors of Pirelli & C. SpA re-nominated Marco Tronchetti Provera as Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) attributing to him the powers for the operational management of Pirelli. Company chairman, Ning Gaoning, was given the authority of legal representation of the company.
The Board of Directors of Pirelli met last Friday to take stock of the COVID-19 crisis and its detrimental effect upon global economic outlook. During the meeting, they decided the scenario that forms the basis of the 2020-2022 Industrial Plan, which Pirelli presented on 19 February, no longer applies. The Board has therefore decided to reformulate Pirelli’s targets for 2020 “in light of the elements available today” and has also cancelled the distribution of dividends for 2019 for the time being and revised its 2020 renumeration policy.
Cooper Tire & Rubber Company has announced the planned retirement as a full-time executive of Ginger Jones, senior vice president and chief financial officer. Jones intends to focus on serving on public company boards of directors.
In addition to appointing Paul Reitz its eighth member, the Board of Directors at Titan International has also approved the company’s 2018 strategic and operational plan. Reitz commented that after “working hard to manage our way through three years of a cyclical downturn and then post three consecutive quarters of revenue growth this year,” it was “great to be able to present to our board a 2018 plan that continues to reflect growth across all of our business units.”
At a meeting on 5 December, the Board of Directors at Titan International, Inc. agreed to increase in size from seven to eight directors in accordance with company by-laws, and appointed Paul G. Reitz its eighth member. Titan International states that the company president and chief executive officer was appointed to the board “due in large part to his vision and leadership along with his background and knowledge of the business.”
CAM has promoted general manager Ryan Naughton to its board of directors. The company said the promotion recognises his contribution to the business over the last three years, specifically around the structuring of a formal people development programme, leading to the prestigious Investors in People (IIP) award in February this year.

The firm opted to add a new tier of top level management within the company’s sales division to support the current board of directors and global sales teams. The company adds that the new level is being implemented to strengthen the business, offering greater autonomy and direction to grow and develop as the company continues to expand.
The Nomination Committee of Trelleborg AB has decided to propose that Johan Malmquist, Gunilla Fransson and Susanne Pahlén Åklundh be elected as new members to the Board at the company’s 2016 Annual General Meeting on 21 April. Furthermore, the Committee proposes the re-election of Board members Hans Biörck, Jan Carlson, Sören Mellstig, Peter Nilsson, Bo Risberg and Anne Mette Olesen. It is proposed that Sören Mellstig be re-elected as Chairman of the Board.

The retired president of Boeing International has been elected to the board of directors of The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. Laurette T. Koellner, 60, spent 11 years with The Boeing Company in a variety of financial and business leadership roles. Post Boeing, she served as executive chairman of International Lease Finance Corporation, a subsidiary of American International Group, Inc. (AIG) until its May 2014 sale to AerCap Holdings.
