Tyron Runflat marks 21-year Hometyre partnership

Tyron Runflat and mobile tyre fitting network Hometyre are celebrating 21 years of partnership. The manufacturer of the innovative Tyron Multi-Band tyre safety solution, Tyron Runflat works extensively within the defence, emergency services, commercial, leisure and civilian vehicle industries around the world. The Multi-Band keeps the tyre attached to the wheel in the event of a blowout or puncture, helping drivers to reach safety. This ability is even more important in remote areas and four-lane motorways with limited safety areas. Hometyre is the dominant leader of Tyron’s mobile fitting network in the UK, installing hundreds of Tyron’s life-saving bands each year.

Tyron Runflat highlights blue-light solutions at NAPFM 2025

Tyron Runflat presented its vehicle safety products at the Emergency Fleet Exhibition and National Association of Police Fleet Managers (NAPFM) Conference 2025, which took place on Tuesday and Wednesday at The International Centre in Telford. The company showcased its range of tyre safety technologies, including the Tyron Multi-Bands and new single-piece run-flat solutions.

Capacity more than doubled – Tyron Runflat producing from new, specialist plant

In response to growing demand for its multi-piece run-flat system, Tyron Runflat has moved production to a larger, purpose-built manufacturing and testing facility in Pattaya, Thailand. The company says that following “a number of green shoots and new partnerships,” the 3,000 square metre factory has been specifically built to facilitate demand for the Tyron product.

Tyron Runflat MultiBands to be fitted on additional UK police force vehicles

Tyron’s reports that its Runflat MultiBands have been selected to keep the fast pursuit vehicles of the Cumbria Constabulary and Cheshire Constabulary police safe in the event of a tyre blow-out at speed. The selection will see Tyron MultiBands rolled out to in-service pursuit vehicles that previously had run-flat tyres fitted.

Tyron Runflat unveils ‘Friction Shield’

Leicestershire-based Tyron Runflat Limited has presented its latest run-flat system at the IDEX 2015 defence exhibition and conference in Abu Dhabi. Known as Friction Shield, the system is intended for use on armoured vehicles and consists of sealed, multi-piece run-flat inserts that contain a self-sealing lubricant. The inserts burst when a tyre deflates; Tyron Runflat says the use of separate sachets that burst upon tyre deflation ensures the right amount of lubricant is delivered and enables the vehicle to continue travelling for extended periods.
