ELTA Automotive Ltd has recently been the subject of a management buyout (MBO) with the goal of “making it fit…for its next 25 years”.
This latest development, which was formally agreed on 11 September, sees managing director Ian Hallam, who has worked with ELTA since the company was incorporated 25 years ago, become the company’s co-owner, alongside long-term European partner Luxline spol. s r.o – led by Vladimír Palacka. Ian Hallam and Luxline become equal shareholders of a new holding company, ELTA Investments replacing the previous holding company, Claverdon Fields.
Standard Motor Products Europe (SMPE) has made a series of managerial changes with Ross Toomey becoming managing director and Richard Morley returning to the company as commercial director. Previous managing director Ian Turner has become chairman. Toomey has been with the business for more than seven years, having previously occupied the role of sales director.
Standard Motor Products Europe (SMPE), one of the UK’s largest independently owned automotive parts manufacturers and suppliers, has secured the rights to supply its engine management programme under the iconic Lucas brand.
Last week’s Automechanika Frankfurt show was the exhibition debut for a new name in the battery world – Ecobat Battery Technologies. The company was recently created through the consolidation of three independent businesses operating within the Ecobat group, a consortium which itself spawned from Ecobat Technologies, the world’s largest producer of lead and lead alloys. With this entirely new entity, Ecobat says it intends to “offer a unique and comprehensive battery service across Europe.”
The Lucas range of automotive batteries now includes an AGM fitment. Lucas AGM products will be available throughout the Manbat branch network, and Manbat says AGM batteries have joined the Lucas line-up to accommodate growing start-stop vehicle numbers.
A new, range-topping commercial vehicle battery line has joined the Lucas brand portfolio. UK distributor Manbat says the new Lucas Supreme range of four part numbers, which are available with 140, 170, 180 and 225 Ah capacities, are designed for high performance commercial vehicles with large power demands and high vibration resistance requirements.
