Martin McGreevy Moves to Manbat Batteries

Date: 23rd October 2008 Author: Tyrepress Editors Comments: 0

The sales team at Manbat Batteries has been further strengthened with the appointment Martin McGreevy as the national sales manager for UK and Eire. Coming to Manbat after two years with Jiffy Packaging, where he was the national accounts manager for packaging and packaging systems, McGreevy brings with him 20 years of aftermarket experience – 15 years of which have been in senior sales management positions.

Heading up the entire sales team, the new national sales manager’s role will include guiding the team and helping Manbat customers increase battery sales, handling the key national accounts and developing the business into new markets, something Manbat views as an existing core strength.

Manbat has a long-term plan to increase the amount of business it does with the fast fit and exhaust sector, and as McGreevy was the business development director at Viking International for three years, he will be instrumental to this future growth strategy.

Commenting on his appointment, McGreevy said: “I am delighted to be part of the Manbat team. With Numax – the fastest growing battery brand in the UK – and Varta – the UK’s premium brand – we have a superb offering with a great range and excellent availability, which is ideal for the fast fit and MoT centre sectors, and I am convinced that we can grow our market share for the brands in these areas.

“By being a Manbat customer, businesses benefit from our hands-on business development methods and with the depth of related power supply products that are in our portfolio, so we naturally want to spread this message to new business sectors” he added.

“We have great confidence in Martin and with the experience he brings to the business,” said marketing manager Myles Pemberton. “To continue to develop new business in new sectors is central to the company’s future growth-plans and Martin’s industry experience will be invaluable over the long-term.”
