Bridgestone has added four new premium motorcycle tyres for release in 2020. The new additions are the Battlax Classic Racing CR11, the Battlax BT4, Battlax Racing Street RS11, and Battlecross E50 Extreme, for a variety of applications, from racetrack to road.
A motocross world champion has joined some of the sport’s brightest lights on Bridgestone’s Battlecross products. Graham Noyce famously won the 500cc World Championship in 1979 and to commemorate the 40th anniversary of his success, he will get back in the saddle of his Honda, fitted with Bridgestone Battlecross tyres. The rider will showcase the skills that made him a champion at the Farleigh Castle Motocross of Nations (VMXdN) on September 7 and 8, along with other household names of the sport.
Crescent Yamaha has opted to fit Bridgestone’s Battlecross tyres as it strives for success in the ACU British Championship and MX Nationals series. The official Yamaha UK-supported team will compete for podiums with the latest GYTR-equipped 2019 YZF bikes. Northern Ireland’s Martin Barr will compete in MX2 on the all-new 2019 Yamaha YZ250F in MX2, while Bournemouth’s Jake Shipton will continue in the premier MX1 class with the 2019 Yamaha YZ450F.
Five motocross stars running on Bridgestone’s range of Battlecross tyres have secured seven championship titles. Josh Gilbert, Callum Green, Josh Waterman, Rory Jones and Simon Lane all competed on the company’s products in 2018 and all won significant pieces of silverware, before paying tribute to the rubber that kept them on track all year round.
Bridgestone is ramping up its association in motocross after agreeing to become a main sponsor of the 2018 Apico 2-Stroke Festival. The event, which debuted on the motocross calendar for the first time last year, will feature three separate rounds in at different locations across the UK.
Bridgestone has launched the new Battlecross X10 motocross tyre for sand terrain. The tyre features a new tread design and increased block deformation, promising riders stronger traction, better self-cleaning and higher sideslip control in all types of sandy conditions. The tyre was developed and tested by top riders on the MX competition circuit.
