
Bridgestone reiterates TyreSafe message
Bridgestone has stated its support for TyreSafe’s Tyre Safety Month campaign by urging drivers to use the clocks going back as a prompt to check their tyres. Bridgestone is calling on motorists to spend five minutes checking their tyres to combat the rising threat of accidents and breakdowns as roads become slippier and conditions more inclement.

New research published by Direct Line for Business reveals that Britains builders, plumbers, electricians and other tradespeople are living out of their vans - using them as mobile offices, bedrooms and entertainment centres. While not wanting to be accused of being asleep on the job, Britains tradespeople are using their vans as mobile homes with 11 per cent sleeping in their vehicle. Almost a third (31 per cent) of tradespeople use their van as a mobile office to manage their business. Vans are also used as mobile dining rooms, with just under a half (45 per cent) of tradespeople eating their meals in their vehicle.

Maxam strengthens management team
Maxam Tire, the Luxembourg-based manufacturer of industrial, construction and OTR radial tyres, has announced a key appointment to its management team. Peter Kraus (47) joined the company at the beginning of September as business development manager for Germany, Switzerland and Austria, responsible for the entire Maxam product range.

Michelin continues prominence dominance, but…
What’s in a name? Keeping a good name means as much in business as in life. When it comes to online marketing it arguably means even more. For the last nine years Tyres & Accessories has surveyed the prominence and sentiment of tyre brand names in the online world. We’re not experts in the very specialist and highly technical research field so we have spent all this time partnering with a company in silicon fen, which knows a whole lot more about this than we do. Previously our research partners were known as Envisional, but in the year since our last report the company has re-branded itself as NetNames. Nevertheless it is the same system and therefore it continues to be comparable with our data archive.

Kumho OE on Mercedes G-Class

Bridgestone publishes 2013 CSR report
The English-language version of the Bridgestone Group’s CSR Report 2013 have been released and is now available for download from the company’s website. The 63-page document covers the period from 1 January to 31 December 2012 and, in addition to covering initiatives related to Bridgestone’s 22 CSR Focus Points, it broaches the Japanese firm’s CSR activities from three perspectives, which it presents as ‘special features’.
