Fake parts: a £34 billion problem

“Fake parts” have risen to become a multi-billion-pound problem affecting the safety and performance of vehicles in motorsport and on the road, according to European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) estimates. January’s Performance & Tuning Car Show at Birmingham’s NEC will hold a forum at which consumers can seek expert advice on this worrying trend.

Milltek Sport partners Mission Motorsport, Sir Chris Hoy for Race of Remembrance

Derbyshire based exhaust manufacturer Milltek Sport will field a “special” lineup at the Race of Remembrance (RoR) at Anglesey on 12 and 13 November, the company states. Jon-Allan Butterworth, fresh from his Paralympic successes at Rio will be joined by Sir Chris Hoy as team mate in a VW Golf racecar prepared by Milltek Sport, Strata 21 and KPM Racing.

Tom Onslow-Cole to test drive for Toyo

Toyo Tires has revealed the latest test driver to join its ranks is none other than BTCC and British GT ace, Tom Onslow-Cole. As well as being a well-known driver in his own right, the popular Surrey wheelman is also the head coach for motorsport’s governing body, the MSA.

Bentley and Olympic gold medallist boost Avon Tyres British GT 2014 at Oulton Park

British GT title sponsor and tyre supplier Avon will fit its rubber to two teams’ Bentley Continental GT3s as the championship returns at Cheshire’s Oulton Park over Easter bank holiday. More than 30 cars will take to the capacity grid for the season opener, with Bentley’s return to full-time motor racing a highlight. Another is the presence of an Olympic gold medallist, competing with Nissan Academy Team RJN.
