Bridgestone Americas will spend US$550 million over the coming two years on the expansion and modernisation of its Warren County truck and bus radial tyre plant in the US state of Tennessee. The project will add 380 jobs to the Warren County workforce and expand the plant’s existing footprint by 850,000 square feet (around 79,000 square metres).
Kal Tire and Bridgestone Canada have reached an agreement for Kal Tire to purchase 15 full-service GCR Tires & Service (GCR) outlets, two retreading plants and one off-the-road tyre repair shop from Bridgestone. The purchase of these locations will enable Kal Tire to serve more consumer, commercial and mining customers in the Canadian markets where it currently operates, as well as expand its footprint to include locations in eastern Canada.
Bridgestone Corporation reports that its North and Latin American subsidiary is expanding several key leadership positions in order to strengthen its core tyre business and to accelerate the execution of its sustainable mobility solutions strategy. The changes will take effect 1 June.
Taren Rodabaugh has been appointed Bridgestone Americas’ chief information officer, effective 31 August. She is tasked with leading the company’s information technology strategy in support of its ongoing evolution to become a sustainable mobility and advanced solutions company.
Bridgestone Americas has named TJ Higgins its group president, Americas Tire Business. Higgins starts in this newly-created role on 16 September and takes responsibility for sales of all tyre-led businesses across the Americas region, including the company’s large integrated consumer and commercial tyre businesses.
