FER to return to York for 2018 conference, AGM & dinner

The Federation of Engine Re-manufacturers (FER) has announced that its 2018 FER conference, AGM & dinner will take place at the Park Inn in York on Saturday 6 October. The FER held its 2015 event in the city, proving an extremely popular venue with its many local attractions.

FER appoints new operations manager

The Federation of Engine Re-manufacturers (FER) has appointed Owen Laurenson as operations manager. Reporting to the FER’s board of directors, Laurenson will be responsible for proactively managing the day-to-day running of the FER and developing a strategy to further enhance the FER’s reputation and positioning within the automotive industry. Laurenson will also be responsible for introducing value added initiatives to the benefit of existing and future FER members and customers.

FER AGM to debate petrol and diesel engine ban

The Federation of Engine Remanufacturers (FER) has announced its annual general meeting will take place on Saturday, 7 October at IAAF offices in Birmingham. The Federation, which celebrates its 80th anniversary in 2017, has added new members this year and held very successful regional meetings, providing members with an insight into FER activity and discussing key policy.

The Federation of Engine Remanufacturers (FER) is warning the industry to avoid and report any suspicious engine remanufacturers as there has been an increase in fraudulent activity with some increasing prices for sub-standard and unprofessional work.

The Federation of Engine Re-manufacturers (FER) brought members together at a Southern Regional Meeting recently at Reigate Manor Hotel in Surrey, with engine components supplier AJUSA hosting the event. The meeting highlighted cylinder head gasket stresses, fibre gasket characteristics and uses, the ‘mls’ design, metal-elastomer gasket characteristics and uses and, cylinder head gasket tests and other verifications.

John Gray becomes FER acting president

Ken Worsdale has stood down as president of the Federation of Engine Re-manufacturers (FER). John Gray, current vice-president, will assume the role of president until the federation’s annual conference, AGM and dinner, held on Saturday 8 October in Birmingham.
