Goodyear has been marketing its passenger car tyres in Germany directly to end users for fitting by a listed partner for roughly six months. And for years before that there has been a noticeable trend towards online selling. With this in mind, Tyres & Accessories’ German group publication Neue Reifenzeitung interviewed David Anckaert, vice president Commercial Europe at The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company.

In short, an interim assessment of Goodyear’s forays into the German direct online sales business concludes that such an approach relies on “shared success” with dealers.

The complete interview is available to subscribers as part of the July print edition of Tyres & Accessories and online magazine. The complete text will be added to premium area of our tyrepress.com website next week.
