Robert (Rob) Freeman, Malvern Tyres Group managing director and chairman, died on Thursday 29 April 2021 after a short illness. According to the National Tyre Distributors Association (NTDA), which made the announcement, the NTDA reflects the feelings of the tyre business, with the team at Aylesbury “deeply saddened to learn of the tragic death of leading UK tyre industry figure Rob Freeman”.
The Zenises Group has appointed Jason Clarke as its new managing director for the British market, as part of the expansion programme on which the company has embarked. With a broad experience of more than 22 years in the tyre industry, the new Zenises manager for the United Kingdom will be a great asset to help meet the Group’s growth goals.
SD-International (SDI) has appointed Steve Tidmarsh as general manager. Tidmarsh brings over 35 years of experience to the Shanghai-based contract tyre manufacturer.
Tidmarsh’s experience includes 25 years at Goodyear Dunlop, culminating as sales and marketing director of both the consumer and commercial sectors. He has also held the position of financial director with Hi-Q Tyre Services as well as six years as managing director of Kumho UK, becoming the first non-South Korean to hold this title.
County Tyres has announced the appointment of Phil Stanton in the newly created role of strategy director. Formerly Goodyear Dunlop UK & Ireland sales manager for farm tyres, Stanton joined the group on 1 November to work closely with managing director, Rob Freeman, in developing future strategy.
