Domestic market launch for Hankook Winter i*cept RS² successor

The 2015-launched Hankook Winter i*cept RS² is still delivering strong performances in comparative tyre tests, such as its ‘good’ rating in Auto Bild’s winter 2021 evaluation, but a successor tyre is already available – in Korea, at least. Hankook Tire & Technology is launching the Winter i*cept RS³ in its domestic market today.

Introducing the latest-generation tyre, Hankook reports that the Winter i*cept RS³ provides four per cent better braking on snow than its predecessor thanks to the use of corrugated 3D kerfs in place of the prior generation’s 2D kerfs, as well as better braking performance in the wet and tread life durability that’s around ten per cent improved.

“We are committed to offering tyre products that ensure driver’s safety on the road based on our continued investment in R&D and the latest technologies,” says Sooil Lee, president and chief executive officer of Hankook Tire & Technology. “We are confident that this new tyre tread upgraded from our already highly praised winter tyre will meet our customers’ high expectations.”

Hankook Tire & Technology intend to launch the Winter i*cept RS³ in Europe next year, followed by its rollout in other markets.
