Cooper Tire & Rubber Company has announced two international leadership appointments. Luis Ceneviz takes on a position of greater responsibility within the company, while Alan Yang returns to Cooper to fill the position made vacant by the impending retirement of Allen Tsaur.
Cooper Tire Asia has earned the 2018 Statistical Quality Award and the Simultaneous Engineering (SE) Achievement Award from Great Wall Motors Company Limited. Great Wall is China’s largest SUV and pickup truck manufacturer, producing vehicles under the Haval and Great Wall brands. Cooper, which has been supplying original equipment tyres to Great Wall since 2011, was the only tyre company recognised by the automaker with these awards.
Cooper Tire Asia has received the 2017 Excellent Supplier award from Beijing Automotive Industry Corporation (BAIC). The award was given at BAIC’s recent annual supplier conference held in Beijing. Nearly 150 suppliers were invited to the event where Cooper was presented with the award in the off-road vehicle segment.
The formal dedication for Cooper Tire Asia’s new technical centre facility took place on 12 June, the company reports. The Asia Technical Center (ATC) in Kunshan, China is located near the Cooper Kunshan Tire (CKT) plant some 30 miles/50 kilometres from Shanghai. The new, purpose-built facility replaces the ATC operation in Shanghai and will house 65 material scientists and tyre engineers. The ATC is one of four Cooper Tire & Rubber technical centres around the world, and focuses primarily on the design and development of passenger car and truck tyres for the Asian and Chinese markets.
