Cooper Tire Continues ‘Happy Soccer Class’ at Yellow Mountain

Date: 10th September 2010 Author: Tyrepress Editors Comments: 0

In China, Cooper Tire has been continuing a series of measures designed to integrate the company into the communities in which it operates. One such programme is Cooper’s ‘Happy Soccer Class’ which recently saw Alex Koi, general manager of Cooper Tire China operations, lead his team of employees to Tanjiaqiao Central Primary School in Huangshan, also known as the Yellow Mountain, Anhui province. Since January 2010, Cooper Tire working closely with famous soccer commentator Huang Jianxiang, officially launched the Cooper Tires charity soccer with the theme of ‘The wheel of Joy – happy soccer class’. This campaign aims to teach soccer skills to the children.

According to the company, throughout the event, one could witness local children’s talent and keen interest in learning various soccer tactics from Cooper Tire’s employees. When it comes to friendly competitions, these children eagerly showed their newly found skills on-field with their fellow classmates.

Furthermore, this close relationship between Cooper Tire and its communities is said to have “imparted upon them a sense of obligation to be a good community citizen and the importance of social responsibility.” Cooper Tire believes its commitment to social responsibility has served it well over the years not only in making Cooper a better place to work and its communities better places in which to live.

Alex Koi, general manager of China operation, Cooper Tire, said “Cooper Tire leverage on joy as the main vehicle to convey a brand concept of loving life and pursuing dreams without compromising on the brand core concept, through football, travel, comics, and public welfare activities.”

Cooper Tire also made a donation in the form of books, stationery, sports equipment, multimedia support and other supplies to the school. Through this volunteer project, Cooper Tire hopes local children will have better equipped learning tools for a well-balanced growth similar to other parts of China.
