Fiege to operate Toyo B2B e-commerce platform

Date: 8th August 2012 Author: Tyrepress Editors Comments: 0

Supported by German logistics provider Fiege, Toyo Tires Europe is now distributing tyres to its business clientele via an internet-based B2B platform. The platform has already been rolled out in Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries and, most recently, the UK.

Fiege has been in charge of warehousing and distributing Toyo tyres for the tyre maker’s B2B business in Germany and Austria since 2006, and supplies customers in these territories from its Dortmund, Germany-based facility. In January 2011 the Benelux region was added to this operation, and Fiege says that the Dortmund site will also handle online operations.

“Taking over all e-commerce activities highlights Fiege’s competency for the entire value chain within online trading, a segment which we have been gradually building up since 2006,” stated Felix Fiege, member of the Fiege Group board. “Fiege has evolved from a fulfilment service provider to a genuine full service e-commerce service provider.”

The platform – developed jointly with e-commerce system specialist Zyres – will show some 1,700 available units for around 1,000 business accounts per country. To support Toyo’s clients in various European markets, Fiege operates the platform in German, English, French, Dutch and Italian. The user interface permits customers to create their own ‘notepad’ list, view their order history and search for tyres using selection criteria that includes vehicle model, tyre size or tyre type.
