Maxxis Signs Motorsport Deal with MSS Colchester Kawasaki

Date: 8th January 2010 Author: Tyrepress Editors Comments: 0

Maxxis has announced that it will continue its growth in British motorcycle sport by partnering the official Kawasaki UK British Superbike team, MSS Colchester Kawasaki, “The Maxxis sponsorship will enable us to further develop the team; we are looking forward to working with Maxxis in British Superbikes (BSB), Superstock and British Road racing,” Said MSS Colchester Kawasaki Team owner Nick Morgan. “The Maxxis tyre offering has come-on in leaps and bounds in recent years, consequentially we have high hopes for future developments and we are very pleased to be associated with such a dynamic brand.”

Commenting on the confirmation of the partnership with MSS Kawasaki – Maxxis International (UK) PLC Director – Don McMartin said “We are delighted to be working with MSS Kawasaki: partnering such a professional, high profile team will aid the development of future products, whilst raising the profile of the Maxxis brand to our core motorcycling audience. Maxxis is now in a stronger position than ever; brand awareness has grown substantially, combined with a keen price point which we have set to catch consumer attention; whilst ensuring lasting, healthy profit margins for the trade.”

Maxxis has committed to a large UK-based brand awareness campaign over the past few years, establishing the brand through live events, race series and team sponsorship.

MSS Kawasaki has recently announced its 2010 rider line-up of Simon Andrews and Gary Mason. Andrews has re-signed after giving the team a 2009 season to remember whilst Mason comes off the back of a very strong year, dominating the Superbike Privateers Cup. Also part of the deal will be branding of road racing legend Ryan Farquhar’s specially prepared Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R Superbike in the Isle of Man TT, North West 200 and Ulster GP road races. The team is currently undertaking an extensive winter testing programme to capitalise on additional technical support from Kawasaki and a revised Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R Superbike.
