RMA Outlines Its NTSW Events

Date: 16th April 2007 Author: Tyrepress Editors Comments: 0

(Akron/Tire Review) The RMA says it has a full schedule of events planned around the upcoming 2007 National Tire Safety Week, Apr. 22-28. Some of the events precede the scheduled NTSW.

RMA said that more than 17,000 tyre retailers – tyre dealers, mass merchants, discount chains and auto dealers – plan to participate in NTSW, and will be passing our brochures, holding tyre safety events, offering free tyre checks and more.

During the week of Apr. 16, RMA, Goodyear and Wal-Mart are co-sponsoring tyre care and safety events in Cincinnati, Atlanta, Jacksonville, Houston and Dallas. On Apr. 21-22, all Wal-Mart Tire and Lube Express locations will likely offer free tyre pressure check lanes, and Sam’s Club locations will offer Be Tire Smart brochures.

On Apr. 19, RMA is co-hosting a tyre pressure check event with Sullivan Tire and Auto Service in Plymouth, Mass. The event will take place at the Massachusetts Visitor Center at Exit 5 of S.R. 3.

On Apr. 23, RMA and the California Integrated Waste Management Board, California Highway Patrol and AAA Northern California are co-hosting a NTSW press conference that will highlight 2007 RMA tyre maintenance survey information and the CIWMB’s efforts to promote proper tyre care.

Les Schwab Tire Centers is cosponsoring radio ads throughout April with CWIMB that promote proper tyre care.

On Apr. 24, RMA is sponsoring a satellite media tour with Courtney Hansen, host of Spike TV’s Powerbock and Fox Sports Net’s Destination Wild. Hansen is also the author of the upcoming book, The Garage Girl’s Guide to Everything You Need to Know about Your Car.

RMA also will be conducting a 20-station radio media tour on Apr. 20 and 25, and is sending four radio public service announcements to 3,000 radio stations nationwide.
