Landsail offers its tyres up for testing

Landsail tyres, which are produced by Qingdao Sentury Tire Co. Ltd in China’s Shandong province, are offering their tyres for magazine testing in a bid to demonstrate the quality of its products.

According to the company, the move made as the Landsail brand reaches its fifth anniversary, follows accelerated investment in engineering, production capabaility, and R&D, which the manufacturer said has led to continuous improvement in the quality of their tyres across the whole range.

It’s clear that the strategy behind the move is to differentiate Landsail from being “just another Chinese tyre”. Indeed 2014 has seen investment in Landsail continue to grow and with a brand new workshop within the Sentury factory and a new factory in Thailand – due to begin production in 2015. This means that by the end of 2015 annual capacity will increase from 15 million pieces per year to 25 million.

As well as offering, car, van and winter tyres. Landsail is able to boast an SUV range with sizes up to 24 inches, run-flats and even aircraft tyres! And, according to the company, much of this is made on world-class machinery such as VMI Exxium tyre builders – indeed Tyres & Accessories understands Sentury Tire has used VMI builders since its inception.

However, as good as the latest machinery is and as rapid as Landsail’s ascendancy has been, there is still a lot to be said for process and experience. And the only way that a relative newcomer can convince the market and consumers otherwise will be through experience – all of which makes the firm’s decision to begin courting tyre tests all the more interesting.
