Sentury produces first Landsail aircraft tyres

The first Landsail aircraft tyres have come of the Sentury production line

Sentury Tire has produced the first Landsail-branded aircraft tyres. The new tyre can be fitted on Boeing 737-600, 737-700, 737-800 and 737-900 models that have a maximum take-off speed of 362km/h. Sentury told Tyrepress at Brityrex 2014 that it would produce 10,000 aircraft tyres each year. The manufacturer passed the necessary civil aviation standards for this type of product in 2013.

The Landsail aircraft tyre has four wide vertical grooves to provide optimum all weather performance, preventing lateral water slide on wet runways. Its compound is reinforced with high abrasion resistance carbon black.

The tyre is emblematic of the company’s meteoric growth, having been formed in only 2009. Sentury says it has accelerated investment in engineering, capacity, and R&D, improving the quality of their range, while adding technology like run-flats. By the end of 2015, Sentury says its annual capacity will increase from 15 million pieces per year to 25 million, with further increases leading to a total capacity of 33 million by the end of its second phase of growth – including a Thailand plant – in 2017.
