This year SD-International took an outside booth between Halls 19 and 22 of Autopromotec. According to the company, this meant the contract manufacturer attracted “a constant stream of visitors including established customers and potentially new international distribution partners”. Peter Nicholls, SD-Internationals sales and marketing director explained, stating: “With a recently opened new warehouse in Germany enabling swift delivery throughout Europe, we were initially intending to attract increased customer sales in Italy and other parts of Europe.

Soave to serve as a company director for a three-year term and voted to ratify Grant Thornton LLP as the company’s independent registered public accounting firm for 2015.

Toyo Tire supplying its North American best-seller to Ram Rebel
The Open Country A/T II is the best-selling Toyo product in North America, and is described by its manufacturer as a “favourite among truck enthusiasts”. Ram Trucks, the pick-up truck brand established by Fiat Chrysler in 2010, has selected the tyre as the exclusive original equipment fitment for its new Ram 1500 Rebel. And the Toyo tyre is present inside the pick-up, too. In addition to being shod with the Open Country A/T II in size LT285/70R17, the Rebel’s front and rear passenger seats are embossed with the tyre’s tread pattern.

1.75m UK motorists ‘could struggle’ to access online driving licence: Licencecheck
Following the abolition of the driving licence paper counterpart yesterday, more than 1.75 million motorists could struggle to access their driving licence online, according to a licence checking and monitoring company. Licencecheck said that it had seen evidence of “teething problems” with the new system, introduced by the DVLA for drivers to access or share their driving licence information.

Goodyear to release rice husk silica tyre in China this year
Global rice paddy production amounts to around 700 million tonnes each year, and some 20 per cent of this total paddy weight is made up of rice husk, which is separated in the rice milling process and has traditionally been discarded by burning (including to generate electricity) or by dumping in landfill. But in recent times new uses have been found for this former waste. Goodyear Tire & Rubber, for example, has tested silica derived from rice husk ash over the past two years. The tyre maker has now reached a supply agreement with China’s Yihai Food and Oil Industry for silica derived from rice husk ash, and will begin manufacturing a tyre containing this silica at its Pulandian factory in China this year. The tyre will be sold in the Chinese domestic market.

In a bid to lead the row crop sector, Alliance Tire Group has introduced IF (Improved Flexion) and VF (Very improved flexion) low pressure Alliance 354 Agriflex and 354 Agriflex + (VF) narrow radials. According to the company, the tyres are designed with specific sidewall flexibility, enabling them to carry either the same loads as standard radial tractor tyres but at lower pressures or carry up to 20 per cent (IF) and 40 per cent (VF) heavier loads at the same pressure.
