
Tyres on the Drive receives Northern Tech Judges’ Award
Mobile tyre-fitting specialist Tyres on the Drive has won the Judges’ Award for Leadership at this year’s Northern Tech Awards in Liverpool. The Cheshire-based company was also named the 12th fastest growing tech business in the North of England and Scotland, having achieved 73 per cent revenue growth for 2013 to 2015, in a league table of the top 50.

Australian company Vehicle Management Corporation (VMC) has released a new TPMS backend for mining, port and transportation applications. The enTIRE PressureNet solution is “the result of years of research and development,” and comes from the same software development team that produced enTIRE Wheels, the tyre and rim management software widely used around the world for the past 25 years.

High expectations of growth in motorcycle sales for March 2016 were tempered somewhat by low product supply. While the market started strongly this year, overall growth was only 1.6 per cent compared with March 2015. “Following a strong start to 2016, the NMDA had high expectations that March would follow suit on the back of the new 16-plate change, however the market was up by only 230 bikes compared to March 2015 – marking an overall growth of just 1.4 per cent”, said Stephen Latham, head of the National Motorcycle Dealers Association (NMDA) which represents motorcycle retailers across the UK.

Five new tyres added to Michelin X Works construction range
Michelin has extended its range of robust X Works tyres for the construction sector, adding five new tyres to the line-up of rugged fitments. Available with immediate effect, the X Works range now boasts 315/80 R 22.5 X Works Z (multi-position) tyres, X Works D (drive axle) tyres, plus 385/65 R 22.5 X Works T (trailer axle) tyres. In addition to holding the positions of chief executive officer and chairman at US wholesaler Tire Group International (TGI), he has also built up a multimedia and artist management company, Rock The Moon Productions, LLC. Yesterday, the Film division of Rock The Moon Productions announced it has sold the rights to develop the film ‘The Corporation’ to Paramount Pictures in partnership with Appian Way Productions, the film company founded by Leonardo DiCaprio.
