Yokohama HPT has expanded the size ranges of its Mugello and Rivage wheels in the UK. Sized from 17-20”, both wheels are available in staggered fitments to suit a wide range of cars. The Mugello is suited particularly to those requiring wider rims at the rear and is available in Hyper Silver or Matt Black. The Rivage can be specified in either Hyper Silver or Gloss Black with milled edges to the spokes.
CES (UK) Ltd, one of the country’s leading distributors of car parts, has announced that it has accepted “significant investment” in order to accelerate plans to expand its current network and further strengthen its position in the UK automotive aftermarket. Founders Howard Warren and Charles Colton will continue to support the CES strategy for growth whilst, the existing board of directors, led by managing director Steve McCann, will continue to manage the company operations.

According to the companies involved, this strategic move will “accelerate plans to increase The Parts Alliance network and further strengthen [its] position in the UK automotive aftermarket.” CES (UK) remains a key member of The Parts Alliance.

In a disclosure submitted to the Korea Stock Exchange, Kumho Tire reports that the strike announced on 16 August is already over. The tyre maker says normal production resumed at both its Gwangju and Gokseong plants in South Korea on 17 August. Kumho Tire shares rose 3.6 per cent following this announcement.
Nankang has added to its winter tyre line-up with the release of the Winter Activa SV-55. The new SUV-specific tyre is available in 11 sizes for 16 to 20-inch rim diameters and in H, V and W speed ratings. The Taiwanese tyre maker says the asymmetrical tread pattern used on the SV-55 provides high drainage performance, while the large blocks on the outer edge are said to provide comfortable cornering maneuverability.
In a move that recognises Spanish’s status as the second most widely spoken language in the United States, Goodyear Tire & Rubber has introduced a Spanish language website targeted at North American consumers. Through this site, Goodyear hopes to “provide better appeal to a growing Hispanic tyre-buying population.”
Bridgestone has begun manufacturing its Blizzak winter range in China. The tyre maker celebrated the start of Blizzak production in its Tianjin plant this month. The factory, which opened in 2000, recently benefitted from a capacity expansion programme that saw output increased from 16,500 units per day to 25,300; it is not clear what proportion of total output will be dedicated to winter tyres.
