Former PTNA Boss Mannino Announces New Venture

Date: 21st January 2008 Author: Tyrepress Editors Comments: 0

The former president and CEO of Pirelli Tire North America, Gaetano “Guy” Mannino, is drawing upon his years of sales, marketing and manufacturing experience with the Italian tyremaker in his latest business venture. Mannino, whose quarter-century tenure at Pirelli ended in October 2007, has announced the formation of Verdek, a consulting and trading company with corporate headquarters in Rome and offices in Connecticut and Tuscany.

“The goal of Verdek will be to create value for US and foreign companies planning to expand their businesses into new international market arenas,” commented Mannino. Assistance for international companies wishing to maximise their performance in the competitive US market, including obtaining optimal state and county incentive packages and developing product launch strategies, is to be one of Verdek’s key foci. Another is the creation of export opportunities for US companies with unique products.

Mannino’s Pirelli experience makes him well suited to his leadership role at Verdek. Since joining the company in 1982 Mannino worked for Pirelli in Europe, South America and lastly North America, managing high-budget investment projects. During his time with PTNA the company’s sales experienced a healthy increase and the Pirelli brand image was strengthened. In addition, Mannino developed good working relationships with numerous US state and local governments.
