Michelin pulls out of The Tire Cologne

Michelin at TTC in 2018

According to the latest information on its website, preparations for The Tire Cologne “are continuing as planned according to the current status for the determined date.” But the tyre trade show has been dealt a further blow in addition to restrictions on large gatherings that were announced yesterday. One of the largest names in the tyre industry has decided against exhibiting due to the risk posed by coronavirus.

Michelin announced today that it won’t be present as exhibitor at The Tire Cologne in June due to the “increasing spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) and the associated health risks for visitors and employees at the show.” It reached this decision after “careful consideration” of the situation.

“We didn’t take the decision to cancel lightly, but we have now taken it resolutely and ask the organiser of The Tire Cologne in particular for understanding regarding this decision,” shared Michelin in a statement.
