Apollo Tyres becomes an Indian Super League official partner

Apollo Tyres has caught football fever in India – within the last month it has announced sponsorship deals with two clubs, Chennaiyin FC and Minerva Punjab FC, and now the tyre maker has become an official partner of the Indian Super League (ISL) for the current season. Its support of the ten-club championship will be manifest in campaigns planned for cities where matches are scheduled to take place during the remaining three months of the current season.

Commenting on the partnership with ISL, Satish Sharma, president of Apollo Tyres’ Asia Pacific, Middle East & Africa region, said: “We are looking at leveraging on the organically growing and fast adoption of football as a sport in India, and Indian Super League is the best platform for that. Football being the key element of our brand building strategy across geographies, it would be our endeavour to work at the grassroots level of football.”

“Having strengthened club participation from eight to ten in the Hero Indian Super League this season, its soaring viewership and the league’s commitment to grassroots football, India is undergoing a football renaissance. We are extremely happy that we are seeing greater interest from corporates like Apollo Tyres committing to be part of the Indian football growth story,” added an ISL spokesperson.
