Bandvulc first tyre firm to join SEDEX ethical exchange

Bandvulc Group has become the first tyre company to join the SEDEX ethical business information exchange organisation. Bandvucl reports “Our involvement with SEDEX and this sharing of information was initiated by our customers Tesco and as a result we at Bandvulc believe we are the first transport industry supplier to become compliant.”

Manufacturing companies within the food and clothing sectors have been particular aware of the need for globally high ethical business standard for some time. But now some retailers are extending this reach as far as their suppliers within the transport industry – including tyre and tyre management suppliers such as Bandvulc.

According to the company, SEDEX is a not for profit membership organisation dedicated to driving improvements in ethical and responsible business practices in global supply chains. SEDEX has two main aims: to ease the burden on suppliers facing multiple audits, questionnaires and certifications and secondly to drive improvements in the ethical performance of global supply chains. Members can store, share and report on information in four key areas; Labour Standards, Health & Safety, The Environment and Business Ethics.

A Bandvulc representative said “We feel that it is important to maintain an ethical approach to everything that we do here at Bandvulc. so becoming a member of SEDEX is great for us as it clearly demonstrates to our customers and potential customers what it means to us”.
