Avon British GT driver to sport BEN livery

Date: 23rd May 2012 Author: Admin Comments: 0

Avon Tyres British GT Championship and British Endurance Championship driver George Murrells has agreed to feature automotive industry charity BEN’s logo on his Ginetta G55 GT3 supercar. Murrells will also undertake further fundraising activities to support and promote BEN, including running in the Silverstone Half Marathon on 10 March, 2013.

The racing driver started his career in 2008 when he broke a seven year old lap record at his fourth ever event. Six race wins and a Ginetta Challenge victory during 2010 made him a man to watch in UK racing. In 2011 George moved up to the GT Supercup, taking a podium third place in his debut at Brands Hatch and a race win at Rockingham. Other success last year included victories in GT Trophy Enduro events at Oulton Park and Brands Hatch.  2012 got off to a great start with a class victory in the prestigious Dubai 24 Hours GT Race.

Merrells said: “I’m really pleased to have the opportunity to support BEN, the automotive industry charity.  It’s a relevant cause for us to promote and raise money for.”

Nigel Williams, BEN’s commercial development manager, commented: “to have support from George, a driver in one of motorsports top competitions, is really great news for BEN and will help us to reach a wider audience in terms of creating awareness about our industry charity.”
