Stapleton’s 30 moustaches make “mo’” than £4000

Date: 5th December 2011 Author: Admin Comments: 0

Stapleton was literally bristling with moustaches last month. No the company did not step back into the seventies or make a new fashion statement. Instead the efforts of some 30 of Stapleton’s staffers aimed to put the fun into fundraising for the phenomenon known as Movember – the annual moustache-growing frenzy that raises money and awareness for men’s health issues such as prostate cancer and other cancers affecting men.

“When I first talked people into it, I thought how difficult could it be? Well it’s extremely difficult! Basically it itches all the time and it scares small children – and my wife hates it with a passion. But it’s been well worth it when you see the amount of money we’ve raised.” said instigator Paul Ruddock from the company’s Letchworth purchasing department. “All the money goes directly to men’s cancer charities and helps them to fight against these terrible diseases. Thank you very much to those who have sponsored us.”

The 30 growers braved itchy upper lips and spousal disapproval to raise a total of just over £4000 thanks to the generosity of Stapleton’s staff, customers and suppliers the length and breadth of Britain.
