KRT to support Matador TBR brand with website

Date: 2nd April 2012 Author: Tyrepress Editors Comments: 0

Kings Road Tyres was made the exclusive distributor of Matador truck and bus radial tyres in the UK six months ago, and the wholesaler has announced today that it will launch a sales and marketing campaign to support the brand this summer. KRT says it will seek to boost sales of the brand over the next 12 months with a new, dedicated website covering the full portfolio of Matador TBR applications for regional and long haul, mixed service, city urban and winter fitments. The site will go live in April with the URL, www.matadortyres.co.uk. Sales promotions and incentives will also back-up the sales drive.

Matador has 87 years of tyre manufacturing heritage and KRT says its longevity and reputation for quality are key factors. KRT traces its tyre-making heritage back to 1925 and is now part of Continental AG; all products continue to be manufactured in Europe and the company has its base in Puchov, Slovakia.

“Matador is an exciting brand with a great deal going for it,” says Tim Bader, KRT’s purchasing and marketing manager. “Not only is it a member of the Continental Group, which speaks volumes about its commitment to high quality products, but it also has a comprehensive range of competitively priced tyres covering all major commercial market sectors.

“Another important consideration for buyers is that as a mid-range product all tyres are both regroovable and retreadable, delivering extra performance and value for money to end users,” explains Bader.

These qualities also reflect Matador’s commitment to environmental protection. The company aims for continuous improvement in all activities to reduce environmental impact. Matador holds the ISO14001 certificate of environmental management and was the first company in the Czech and Slovak Republic to meet the ISO 9001 standards for car tyre production.

Commenting on the partnership with KRT, Duncan Platt, general sales manager, truck replacement at Continental Tyre Group UK, said: “Having worked with KRT for many years we know that they will market and distribute the brand with great professionalism. Matador’s wide range and European heritage make it an attractive package for the trade and we look forward to a successful year ahead in terms of increased sales and awareness.”
