Chris Kisby Wins Bid for 3 Regional HiQ Tyre Retail Franchises

Date: 23rd July 2008 Author: Tyrepress Editors Comments: 0

Mark Brickhill, Group Managing Director, stated: “Our HiQ Accelerated Franchise Programme has been hugely successful with our regional zones being oversubscribed with bids. I am delighted that Chris is the first successful named bidder, as he has been an integral part of our success, and in particular HiQ’s growth, for many years. I’m confident that his knowledge, experience and, above all, focus on contributing to a stronger future HiQ network will ensure that both his personal business ambitions and our network growth plans will be highly successful.”

The HiQ Accelerated Franchise Programme aims to accelerate the growth of the nationwide tyre and vehicle servicing network by signing long-term franchise agreements for all the parent-company owned HiQ stores in England and Wales, extending the highly successful model that currently operates in other areas of the UK. Chris Kisby explained why he has made this investment in HiQ: “With 30 years of experience in running business units across Europe with Goodyear Dunlop, I am now fulfilling my ultimate ambition of running my own regional tyre retailing business. I know that there is huge potential to grow this business and drive the network forward. I have worked with many of the HiQ Team in the past, many of whom I know personally.

I respect their commitment to the business and HiQ concept, and I look forward to this new challenge.” During the forthcoming weeks, Goodyear Dunlop will work through a due diligence process with the successful chosen bidders, including this bid, for each HiQ region. After this process, each regional franchise partner will be named. During this period, Kisby will remain on special assignment and will formally leave the company when contracts are finalised. Since announcing his intention to bid, to ensure complete transparency, Kisby has played no part in managing any aspect of the HiQ project. During Kisby’s period of special assignment, Mark Davison, Marketing and Customer Strategy Director, will also assume responsibility for the consumer business unit.
