Robin Sharpe Appointed New Goodyear Dunlop Director

Date: 26th September 2008 Author: Admin Comments: 0

Goodyear Dunlop has appointed Robin Sharpe as its director of sales capability management EU – a newly created role based in Brussels. He will work closely with Hans Vrijsen, sales director consumer tires EU, and Jan-Piet Huylebroeck, director sales truck tires EU, as well as with country sales management teams.

Sharpe joined Goodyear Dunlop Tyres UK in 2006 as sales and marketing director truck tyres after a 22-year career with Procter & Gamble in a variety of sales and operational roles. At Goodyear Dunlop he led the team which embarked on the restructuring of the UK truck organisation and in recent months he has acted as interim retail director for the HiQ fast fit centre network.

“Over the past two years we have spent a great deal of time reviewing the day-to-day activities of our sales organization and recognize that there are opportunities to make further improvements,” Degeer stated. “Robin will help us define the process by which we identify, create and deliver customer value throughout the order to cash cycle. Specifically he will focus on the exact roles and responsibilities of the sales force and sales management in areas such as forecasting, new product introductions, receivables’ management and recommended sell out prices.”

Johnson followed up Degeer’s comments: “This process, when fully implemented, will lead to a better execution of our OGSM throughout the region and will help drive our Sales Academy programs. It will also drive the effectiveness of our customer relationship management tools. Robin’s extensive experience both inside and outside the tire industry will help us provide an even better service to our customers and simplify the way we do business.”
