New Ferrari to use Goodyear Run Flats

Date: 28th September 2004 Author: Tyrepress Editors Comments: 0

This year’s Paris Motor Show saw the unveiling of Ferrari’s new F430, the successor to the 360 Modena. The new Ferrari will be available with Goodyear Eagle F1 EMT run flat tyres. The Ferrari F430 will use 225/35ZR19 Eagle F1 GS-D3 EMT tyres on the front and 285/35ZR19 on the rear.

It appears that the tyres’ ZR rating will be well used as the F430’s V8 engine is capable of doing 0-100km/h in four seconds and has a top speed in excess of 315 km/h.

“A car with such performance needs to be equipped with the best tyres on the market. We are proud that Ferrari chose Goodyear’s Eagle F1 with Runflat technology. The Eagle F1 provides excellent performance for the F430 and at the same time Goodyear’s Runflat technology guarantees the highest possible level of safety should the driver have a puncture,” said Jean Jacques Wiroth, director original equipment sales and marketing, Europe, Middle East and Africa.
