Pirelli targeting North American customers with P Zero MS

Pirelli has launched a new all-season UHP tyre, the Pirelli P Zero MS. Although the manufacturer states that North America is the “main destination market” for this product, other regions may also receive the tyre. Several vehicle makers have already chosen the P Zero MS for their models, including Audi for the new A4 and A6 e-tron.
So far Pirelli hasn’t announced a UK or European aftermarket launch for the P Zero MS, and sales in our region wouldn’t be helped by the absence of a ‘snowflake’ marking – tyres lacking 3PMSF approval cannot legally used as winter or all-season tyres in some European markets.
P Zero MS features
Pirelli describes the main characteristics of P Zero MS as “cornering grip on both dry and wet surfaces, particular resistance to aquaplaning, and high mileage.” It shares that the tyre’s tread pattern is “optimised to favour both acoustic comfort inside the vehicle and braking on both dry and wet surfaces, in the different conditions encountered throughout the year.” Another characteristic that Pirelli notes is “particularly appreciated by carmakers” is the tyre’s low rolling resistance, achieved through the combination of the latest generation compounds and profiles designed to the specific requirements of each vehicle.
All of Pirelli’s major specialties are available on the P Zero MS, starting with Elect, the package of technologies that enhances the characteristics of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles; Seal Inside and Run Flat, solutions that allow continued driving after a puncture, and PNCS (Pirelli Noise Cancelling System), which reduces rolling noise in the cabin.
