TyreSafe has added three tyre industry sales, marketing and communications managers to its steering committee. Two additions come from Yokohama HPT Ltd (marketing manager Lucie Wheater and commercial director Karl Naylor) and one from Goodyear (Jenny Wahlsten, communications manager Europe North at Goodyear. The TyreSafe Steering Committee now comprises 13 representatives from the tyre industry and road safety sector who meet monthly to discuss, challenge and support TyreSafe’s internal team.
Lucie Wheater, marketing manager at Yokohama, who joins the committee with experience garnered from her time with Michelin and Grouptyre, commented: “I feel truly privileged to be invited to join the TyreSafe Steering Committee, where I can leverage the knowledge and skills gained throughout my career to contribute to further raising the charity’s position and profile in the industry. TyreSafe plays a vital role in promoting tyre safety, and I am looking forward to supporting its impactful initiatives and campaigns.”
Adding to the committee’s depth is Karl Naylor, Yokohama UK commercial director. Naylor brings a breadth of industry expertise, having held various managerial positions at Michelin, Kumho Tyre, and Apollo, along with serving as managing director of Group Tyre UK: “We have a shared responsibility across the tyre industry to champion safety, and joining the TyreSafe Steering Committee will enable me, and Yokohama, to provide our own insights and show as much support as we can to help educate and advise the public.”
The third new recruit is Jenny Wahlsten, communications manager Europe North at Goodyear, who brings experience in communications strategy and brand management. With her extensive background in the tyre sector in the Nordics, Wahlsten is set to contribute valuable insights to TyreSafe’s initiatives. Based in Sweden, Wahlsten will “provide first-hand insights to help emulate Sweden’s success in the UK”, commenting: “TyreSafe have made great strides in the past 12 months in the amount of reach and gravitas the tyre safety message is now garnering, and I am delighted to be involved in the conversations at the heart of its activities.”
