Trelleborg becomes Kion Group’s preferred non-marking tyre supplier

Trelleborg will supply its Pit Stop Line tyre and other products

The Kion Group has chosen Trelleborg Wheel Systems as its preferred main supplier for non-marking tyres in the European market. As such, the manufacturer will fit Trelleborg non-marking resilient solid tyres as first choice on the counterbalanced forklift trucks it produces for use in indoor environments where floor care is essential.

Products that Trelleborg will supply to Kion Group include the Pit Stop Line, a solution that provides a visual indicator when a tyre needs replacing – a bright orange line appears on the surface of the tyre once it wears down to a point when around 100 hours of working life remain. Trelleborg will also offer its ProTEX range, which uses a completely non-marking electrically conducting compound that has been developed for use on counterbalanced forklift trucks operating in potentially explosive environments. ProTEX is compliant with EN1755 safety regulations, and Trelleborg says it represents a safer alternative to fitting fixed earthing strips. The tyre can be used safely on material handling equipment applications where flammable gas, vapour, or dust may be present.
