Hunter and Pro-Align – getting the right balance

Date: 30th November 2012 Author: Tyrepress Editors Comments: 0

A key piece of equipment demonstrated at Pro-Align’s recent ‘Service Vision’ events held across the country was the newly-introduced Hunter Road Force ‘Touch’ balancer. This new unit includes unique features that allow it to measure road force variation and load force measurement, and Pro-Align believes it is set to transform wheel balancing. This potential was well demonstrated in September; despite being launched only a matter of weeks ago, the new system has already claimed its first international accolade – it was awarded the prestigious Innovation award at the Automechanika show in Germany.

What makes the Road Force Touch so different and superior to other wheel balancers, says Pro-Align, is its ability to eradicate even the most difficult wheel vibration and ride quality issues. With this, workshops will be able to deliver a level of service to customers that is simply not possible with a standard balancer. “The latest evolution of the Road Force Balancer now features an intuitive touch screen interface, making it even simpler and easier to use,” explains Pro-Align managing director Paul Beaurain. “Indeed, such is the speed of the new system that it can carry out the extra load and road force variation measurements, which opens an additional service opportunity, in the same amount of time as a standard, conventional balancer. Those workshops equipping themselves with the new system will be much better placed to provide their customers with an exceptional and unrivalled level of service.”

The Hunter Road Force Balancer applies a load roller to the wheel and tyre assembly, effectively taking it on a road test, to identify stiff spots in the tyre. Having also previously identified any low spots on the wheel rim, the position of the tyre on the rim can be turned to match these two points, minimising any vibration issues. However, without this key diagnostic tool, technicians simply have no way of knowing the best wheel and tyre position combinations.

“We believe the Road Force Touch is an incredibly visionary system that is set to offer a host of opportunities to forward looking workshops. The feedback we received during our nationwide tour about it was incredibly positive and it really does need to be seen to be believed. For those workshops that were unable to make one of our recent events, I would urge them to get in touch to arrange an appointment so they can see for themselves the powerful servicing opportunities being offered,” added Beaurain.
