Bridgestone to supply BMW Driving Experience

Date: 26th January 2012 Author: Tyrepress Editors Comments: 0

Bridgestone Europe has signed an exclusivity agreement to supply tyres to BMW Driving Experience, a programme that provides specialised training programmes to improve driver skills and safety. The tyre manufacturer will fit its tyres to the BMW Driving Experience fleet of BMW 1-Series, 3-Series, X5 and X6 vehicles, in addition to the range of high-performance BMW M models.

In its previous form as BMW Driver Training, the programme put more than 50,000 motorists through driving programmes in Europe. BMW Driving Experience has extended training to include safety, snow and ice, the race track and professional driving, as well as BMW M Experience events, tours and customized driving experiences.

Bridgestone and BMW have a long-standing partnership in the development of high-performance tyres. The tyre giant is BMW’s leading supplier of original equipment rubber, providing Potenza and Turanza run-flat tyres across the whole BMW series range. More recently, Ecopia tyres have been supplied to the 1-Series and MINI Countryman. Bridgestone says the BMW Driving Experience fits with the company’s long-term strategic focus on safety; a position exemplified by its continuing development of run-flat technology.

“BMW and Bridgestone share many of the same goals in terms of safety and sustainable motoring” says Tom Fukuda, senior vice president, Bridgestone Europe Sales & Marketing. “This agreement with BMW Driving Experience adds another dimension to our growing partnership.”
