Goodyear Innovation Center names Jean-Pierre Jeusette general director

Date: 21st April 2011 Author: Tyrepress Editors Comments: 0

Goodyear has announced the appointment of Jean-Pierre Jeusette to general director of the Goodyear Innovation Center in Luxembourg (GIC*L). Jeusette was previously director, Technology Consumer Tyres for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and has 21 years’ experience with Goodyear on a variety of assignments in both Luxembourg and Akron. Jeusette replaces Marc Junio, who has elected to retire after 34 years of Goodyear service.

Jeusette began his career as an engineer in Tire Vehicle Engineering Technology (TVET) and later became Manager of Computational Mechanics. Other significant assignments include Manager OE Development & New Tire Concepts and Manager QTech New Product Industrialization. Jean-Pierre has a degree in Aerospace Engineering from Liege University, Belgium. In his new position, he will report to Arthur De Bok, President EMEA and to Joe Zekoski, VP Global Product Development & Innovation Center Operations.

Junio joined Goodyear as a truck tyre compounder in GIC*L and his many assignments include material development manager, director Tire Technology EEMEA, director Technology Consumer Tyres EMEA and general director GIC*Akron. The official transition date is 1 July, when Junio will officially retire. Goodyear says the interim time will be used to assist Jeusette with the transition.

“Marc’s many valuable contributions to Goodyear over the years will leave a lasting impression on the company,” said Jean-Claude Kihn, Senior VP and Chief Technical Officer. “We wish him the very best as he moves into this new chapter of his life.”

Xavier Fraipont will replace Jean-Pierre as director Technology Consumer Tyres in EMEA. Xavier is currently marketing manager Consumer EMEA. He has over 13 years with the company, beginning as a tyre engineer in Luxembourg. Xavier will report to Mark Brickhill, VP Consumer Tyres EMEA and to Jeusette.
