Private Brands Give SD International Broad Market Coverage

Pace, Zeta, Duration, DHT and Agrostar are amongst the private brands contract manufactured for SD International. The trading company, established in under the name Shanghai Durotyre in 2002, offers a comprehensive product range through these brands, covering the passenger car, commercial and earthmover tyre segments. Sales offices in the UK, Argentina and USA have aided in the establishment of SD International’s products in numerous markets and helped the company sell more than 600,000 tyres in 2008.

The company’s managing director, Mike Zhang, has more than 22 years tyre industry experience, most of which with Double Coin where he held various senior board positions. Sales & marketing director at SD International, Peter Nicholls, has 24 years industry experience and previously worked for two major European tyre wholesalers. All in all, SD International boasts that its senior management team has a cumulative total of almost 200 years’ tyre industry experience. This experience is, the company states, vital in determining which factories it decides to utilise; the right choice is necessary to ensure all products are manufactured to the highest possible standards.

SD International reports its customer base ranges from large wholesalers to retail stores who have their own warehousing. The company adds that it operates agreements to supply retail divisions of both Bridgestone and Goodyear in certain markets.
