More than half of UK motorists are concerned over chargepoints, cost of EV switch

New consumer research by tyre manufacturer Bridgestone shows that UK motorists continue to express confusion and concern over the switch to electrified vehicles (EVs). Asking motorists across the UK for sentiments relating to electric mobility, the mobility solutions provider found that 40 per cent of drivers remain uncertain about EV adoption, which represents a significant jump from 27 per cent in 2024 and 22 per cent just three years ago. Bridgestone UK commissioned the research carried out online by Research Without Barriers in January 2025, surveying 2,000 car owners.
