Autogem on the hunt to find the UK’s TPMS Expert

Date: 19th January 2022 Author: Chris Anthony Comments: 0

During 2022 Autogem to hunting for the UK’s ‘TPMS Expert’ in an inaugural nationwide competition. Specifically, having trained thousands of technicians for more than a decade, Autogem wants to find the most talented professional when it comes to diagnosing, communicating and resolving TPMS issues.

According to Autogem, the competition is open to most of the UK’s largest and most respected tyre retailers and specialist tyre-related workshops. Entries will open soon ahead of qualifying sessions on 27 – 29 April. 12 finalists will be chosen from this stage and will be invited to take part in the final at the Garage & Bodyshop Event on 8 June at the NEC, Birmingham.

A panel of independent judges – featuring some high-profile industry figures – will assess the finalists’ ability to diagnose TPMS problems, the way they are communicated thereafter and the action taken to provide a quick and effective solution. All activity will be against the clock in conditions similar to a typical workshop using Autogem’s exclusive equipment.

There will be prizes for the eventual TPMS Expert winner and runners up. Additionally, every entrant who signs up will qualify for free a TPMS Tune-Up session and more.

For Autogem managing director Prashant Chopra, the TPMS Expert contest is borne out of “a desire to raise the profile of TPMS and its significance within the aftermarket, whilst also continuing to raise industry standards at the same time.”

“We believe that TPMS solutions for motorists should be as synonymous as brakes, batteries, tyres or any other aspect of aftermarket care. A high percentage of vehicles on our roads come equipped with TPMS technology, so there should be no reason why technicians can’t be adept at finding solutions and carving out local, regional and national reputations as genuine experts. We are certainly here to help them.

“We have spent well over a decade training our installer partners and developing our TPMS product and support solutions to aid them. Consequently, many of our partners are now extremely confident and skilled when it comes to TPMS, so we want to give them a platform to showcase their abilities and benchmark themselves against the best in the business.

“TPMS is a vitally important component on vehicles today and by creating ‘TPMS Expert UK’, we hope to bring this point to life. Not only can MOTs fail on TPMS issues, but they are also a key safety feature on any vehicle, prolonging tyre life and making motorists aware of any potential deflation issues as and when they occur.”
