Continental highlighting agricultural tyres during Tour de France

Date: 23rd June 2021 Author: Stephen Goodchild Comments: 0

The Tour de France – cycling through the Pyrenees and the Alps, vying for the yellow jersey, a jubilant finish on the Champs-Élysées…and agricultural tyres. We can look forward to all of these in 2021 as Continental, one of five main partners of the Tour de France, is bringing its agricultural tyre line-up to this year’s event.

While this is the first time Continental will display its agricultural tyres during the Tour de France, spectators in recent years had the opportunity to get to know the Continental passenger car and two-wheeler ranges. Benjamin Hübner, product line manager for Agricultural Tires, explains why Continental decided to show its farming products this time around: “As the main sponsor, the Tour de France is naturally a highlight for us at Continental every year. Some stages of the Tour are characterised by views of almost endless agricultural land. That’s where our high-performance agricultural tyres come into action.

“Our tyres stand for durability, safety and comfort – in the field and on the road, on cars, bicycles or commercial vehicles. The partnership with the Tour de France uniquely reflects this,” adds Hübner.

Passion for the Land

When this year’s Tour kicks off with the Grand Départ in Brest on 26 June, Continental agricultural tyres will accompany the tour across the fields of France under the slogan La Passion de la Terre’ – Passion for the Land. Continental will integrate the agricultural tyres into the layout of the caravan it will use to cover all the stages. On stages one, two and three, large banners and tractors will also draw attention to the Continental agricultural portfolio on farmland along the route. An animated LED banner will greet cyclists at selected stage destinations and short advertising clips will accompany the conclusion of the tour along the Champs Elysée in Paris.
