Birla Carbon announces EMEA price increase

Date: 24th May 2021 Author: Chris Anthony Comments: 0

Birla Carbon will increase the price for all products produced in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region by 97 euros per metric tonne. All shipments made on or after 1 June 2021 are subject to the price increase.

According to the company, the increase is necessary in order to “compensate additional costs incurred, including in freights, logistics and overall operations, as well as to sustain investments in the continuous improvement of our operations”.

It is also said to be a result of the companies drive towards greater sustainability, company representatives said in a price rise statement: “Additionally, we are also studying the ideal ways to address the challenge of increasing CO2 emission costs and will be announcing further measures soon.”
