Bridgestone launches A-rated Duravis All Season light truck tyre

Bridgestone has launched its first-ever all-season tyre for the light truck segment. The Duravis All Season has a robust and durable construction, for longevity and reduced downtime periods. It also has A-grade wet grip on the EU tyre label, alongside Three Peak Mountain Snowflake (3PMSF) and Mud and Snow (M+S) certification. Bridgestone says the tyre targets both small and large fleets looking to maximise business efficiency on the same tyres year-round.

The Duravis All Season delivers all-season performance through several key tread characteristics. High-volume slots in the tyre’s shoulder area improve water dispersion. The tyre also features optimised contact pressure distribution, which helps deliver performance on snow and also reduce tread wear. Certified by the 3PMSF and M+S, the Duravis All Season has a V-shaped layout to improve snow mobility. Its performance in the wet and snow is also down to Bridgestone’s new nano-selective compound mixing technology. This improves silica dispersion in Bridgestone’s Nano Pro-tech compound.

Longevity to tackle home delivery demand

Bridgestone notes recent growth in the light truck segment. This comes in part as a result of e-commerce and last mile delivery demands. But as a result of pressure from EU fuel economy regulations, European fleets today face an added efficiency challenge. Bridgemstone has designed the Duravis All Season to help fleets reduce their total ownership costs through year-round usage and durability.

The robust tyre applies a sidewall protector rib to shield it from impacts with the curb. This helps to reduce tyre damage and repair costs, consequently cutting vehicle downtime. The Duravis All Season also provides improved wear performance thanks to higher pattern stiffness. To further reduce operational costs, Bridgestone’s new light truck tyre applies a construction and cavity optimisation design for improved rolling resistance. This has enabled the tyre to achieve an EU label C-grade for fuel efficiency in most sizes (some sizes are rated E).

Available as of August 2020, with several additional sizes joining the range from September onwards, the Duravis All Season will be available in 23 sizes. These include three HRD sizes and five high load sizes (10PR). This size range accommodates almost every type of vehicle and load with enhanced safety.

Commenting on the release of Bridgestone’s Duravis All Season, Emilio Tiberio, chief technical officer and chief operating officer at Bridgestone EMIA, said: “Today, more and more fleets are choosing all-season tyres because of the convenience they provide. We’re very excited to provide our customers with a durable, all-season model that can ensure peace of mind in all weather conditions, minimize downtime periods and reduce overall total cost of ownership. The Duravis All Season, our first-ever all-season tyre for light trucks, helps to provide the business efficiency fleets are seeking. I’m very proud of the team for delivering a tyre that ticks so many boxes.”
