Bridgestone pausing production at 11 Japanese facilities

Date: 20th April 2020 Author: Stephen Goodchild Comments: 0

Eight Bridgestone Corporation tyre plants in Japan will soon shut down for six production days in response to decreased demand. In addition, the company is closing three non-tyre production facilities for up to four days.

The tyre factories affected by the closures are located in Kurume (passenger car and aircraft tyres), Tokyo (new and retreaded aircraft tyres), Nasu (car and motorcycle tyres), Hikone, Tosu (car tyres), Tochigi (car and commercial vehicle tyres), Amagi (commercial vehicle tyres) and Hofu (car and OTR tyres). The shutdown period will begin on 29 April and extends to 8 May, a timeframe that also covers national holidays on 3 and 6 May.
