Bridgestone Americas recalls 35,000 tyres

Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations, LLC (BATO) is recalling certain FS561 replacement tyres, size 255/70 R22.5, manufactured 25 January 2015 and January 27, 2016 (DOT weeks 0515-0416) for use on trailers. Over 35,000 tyres are said to be covered by the recall. According to a NHTSA recall notice, the affected tyres “may experience possible tread separation or detachment due to scrubbing during use”.

BATO has said it will notify owners and dealers will replace the tyres free of charge. The manufacturer has not yet provided a notification schedule.
