CMA recalls certain Bluestar brand truck tyres

In the US China Manufacturers Alliance, LLC (CMA) has announced that it is recalling certain Bluestar LQ225 size 8-14.5 low platform trailer tyres manufactured. According to a recall notice published by the US government authority responsible for such matters, NHTSA, the affected tyres were produced between 24 February 2013, and 9 August 2014.

The recall notice reports that “the affected tyres can develop a sidewall blister on the upper section of the sidewall”. The risk, the notice continues is that “this blister may pop while the vehicle is in operation. Accordingly, these tyres fail to conform to the requirements of the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) No. 119, “New Pneumatic Tires for Vehicles Other Than Passenger Cars.”

CMA will reportedly notify owners, and distributors to send the tyres back for full reimbursement, free of charge. The recall began 12 December 2014.
