Sailun Vietnam factory Sailun’s first manufacturing facility outside China, on South Vietnam’s Phuoc Dong Industrial Park

Sailun’s Vietnam factory, its first manufacturing facility outside China, is now fully online having opened officially opened on 30 November. The factory is currently expected to supply 7.8 million tyres annually to the Middle East, South East Asia and South America, employing 850 people.

The 59 hectare site is located on Phuoc Dong Industrial Park, Tay Ninh Province, and is manufacturing car, truck and OTR tyres, with facilities for carrying out technical research for future product development. The South Vietnam site is “a major part of Sailun’s international growth strategy” according to the company, reinforcing service and supply levels across the globe. Sailun adds that further planned investment will increase capacity in phases to 12 million tyres by the end of 2015. To support this growth, the factory plans to increase its payroll to more than 3,500 personnel by 2017.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Tay Ninh Province government officials, Sailun senior management, and other special guests. The facility will be a key part of Phuoc Dong Industrial Park’s sustainable industrialisation strategy; it is designed to meet high health and safety and working environment standards.
